Liz Richards is grants manager at Chalkbeat and Civic News Company. Before joining the team, she worked at Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling in Harlem, where she focused on institutional giving and project management. She has an M.A. in Engagement Journalism from CUNY and spent two years as a Peace Corps Education Volunteer near Kingston, Jamaica. Liz lives in Brooklyn but grew up all the way upstate, and is a lifelong Western New Yorker at heart (Go Bills!). Outside work you can catch her baking, thrifting, or drinking copious amounts of coffee.
