Chicago’s field of 14 mayoral candidates now has winnowed down to two: former federal prosecutor Lori Lightfoot and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. So far, each candidate has voiced similar responses to prevailing questions about school board selection (they both support an elected school board) and charters (each supports a freeze on new applications).
