Student-built robots will invade the Armory Track & Field Center this weekend as more than 1,000 local and international student teams compete in the 17th Annual FIRST NYC Robotics Competition and Expo. The highly-anticipated, three-day event—mixed with exciting expos and college career fairs—invites students to battle in a series of high-stake, high-intensity robotic competitions under one roof. High school students will put their robotics skills to the test and go head-to-head in designated challenges, as teams vie for the chance to move on to the FIRST World Championship Tournament in St. Louis on April 26-29. The Regional Competition focuses on the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), with additional programs incorporating FIRST LEGO® League (FLL). Both are run by FIRST NYC, the local nonprofit affiliate of FIRST® – an international nonprofit that inspires students to get involved in science and technology and prepare them for jobs of the future.
Apr. 8, 10:00 AM to Apr. 9, 5:00 PM
