Students diagnosed with ADHD and students who have a hard time maintaining their attention and/or managing their impulses have specific learning needs. This session will be led by Licensed Social Worker Katie Potocnik-Medina, and will highlight how we can utilize student strengths and modify our classroom structures/interventions to best support these students. The goal for this session is for teachers and social workers to walk away with multiple interventions that can immediately be implemented in the classroom. Additionally, there will be time to collaborate and share out both challenges, as well as successes, that school-based professionals have experienced when working with these students. Presenters: Licensed Social Worker Katie Potocnik-Medina Abby Smith, K-12 School Psychologist with KIPP NYC REGISTER AT NYCSPED.ORG/EVENTS
