This will be an informal group discussion for white educators who would like to develop their racial identities while simultaneously becoming more effective anti-racist allies for students and colleagues of color. We will engage in dialogue around identifying and understanding white privilege and how to engage in conversations around race so that we do not perpetuate racial injustice in our schools and classrooms. This group was started in the 2016-2017 school year, is ongoing, and welcomes new participants to drop in. Presented by Anna Reeve Strand: Behavior Supports, Culturally Responsive Teaching, and Social/Emotional Learning Suggested Audience: General Education Teachers, Special Education Teachers, ELL Teachers, Deans/Coaches, School Leaders, Operations Leads, Related Service Providers, Social Workers/Counselors, Paraprofessionals Suggested Grade Level: All **This event is seat-free for members of the NYC Special Education Collaborative!
