Through training in CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, attendees will develop prevention strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage. Attendees will learn how behavior escalates and how to respond appropriately. By utilizing discussions, role-plays and activities, attendees will leave the session with certification in verbal de-escalation and principles of personal safety by the Crisis Prevention Institute and strategies to support students and staff in moments of crisis.

Join us for an evening of true stories from Memphis educators and students. Chalkbeat Tennessee is hosting a storytelling event under the theme "Natural Consequences" alongside Spillit.
We'll explore how natural and unnatural, just and unjust consequences to actions impact our lives and experiences. Storytellers will deliver personal stories, and many of them will touch on how, in diverse ways, school discipline has impacted their lives.
