Adams 14 School District is hosting its first Families Empowered Institute and Resource Fair. The topic of the institute is Preparing our Children for Success: From Preschool to College and Career. Parents will engage in workshops for this half-day event and learn how they can support their child on a path to college and career. There will be over 30 community organizations that will be participating in the resource fair and we've also included a Community Immigration Forum where families can engage in a conversation with an attorney from the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Join us for an evening of true stories from Memphis educators and students. Chalkbeat Tennessee is hosting a storytelling event under the theme "Natural Consequences" alongside Spillit.
We'll explore how natural and unnatural, just and unjust consequences to actions impact our lives and experiences. Storytellers will deliver personal stories, and many of them will touch on how, in diverse ways, school discipline has impacted their lives. Don't miss our latest investigation into school discipline practices here.Tickets are 10 dollars and available at the door the evening of the show.
