For students whose native language is not English, it can be a challenge to distinguish the difference between the process of learning a second language and a disability. In this workshop, we will learn about typical second language learning patterns, ideal learning environments, and the importance of a student’s home language. We will also take a look at how all of these things relate to the disability referral process and a student’s eligibility to receive supports and services.
