One of Facing History’s primary goals is to help students develop their voice and a sense of civic agency. In order for that to occur, students need to be able to interpret evidence and marshal that evidence to make an argument. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing are all essential elements of a Facing History class.
This workshop will explore Facing History’s resource, Common Core Writing Prompts and Strategies: Holocaust and Human Behavior, a supplement to our Holocaust and Human Behavior resources, and participants will receive examples of in-depth, argumentative writing assessments.
