Orton-Gillingham is an instructional approach intended primarily for use with persons who have difficulty with reading, spelling, and writing of the sort associated with dyslexia. This five-day intensive training program introducing participants to the Orton-Gillingham multisensory reading approach and how it is used in the classroom. The course follows the curriculum and guidelines of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. This interactive session includes the fundamentals of OG, lesson planning support, student differentiation, presentation, and more! Certificate of completion will be awarded after successful fulfillment of course requirements. This week-long course will also provide attendees with 30 CTLE credits.

Join us for an evening of true stories from Memphis educators and students. Chalkbeat Tennessee is hosting a storytelling event under the theme "Natural Consequences" alongside Spillit.
We'll explore how natural and unnatural, just and unjust consequences to actions impact our lives and experiences. Storytellers will deliver personal stories, and many of them will touch on how, in diverse ways, school discipline has impacted their lives. Don't miss our latest investigation into school discipline practices here.Tickets are 10 dollars and available at the door the evening of the show.
