Interim assessments tell us where we are on the journey toward student achievement and how to stay the course. Weekly data takes it one step further: it gets us there faster. In this session we will focus on learning and practicing a protocol that allows teachers and leaders to see the greatest gap in student understanding on high leverage daily tasks so that teachers can focus their reteach efforts on what students need, rather than what they already know. The session also presents two models for re-teaching and guidelines for what teachers should be doing during independent practice to gather data on where students are succeeding and where they are struggling. Participants should bring either their laptop or a capture tool and pen for note-taking.
