Hudson River Community Sailing (HRCS) and the Knickerbocker Sailing Association (KSA) will be partnering for the fourth year on the 12th annual Stonewall Sails Regatta on the Hudson River in Chelsea on June 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Stonewall Sails was the first-ever gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender sailing regatta when it debuted in 2003 and remains the longest-running LGBT sailing regatta in the world. Up to 10 teams will compete in J-24 racing sailboats again this year. The event raised nearly $7,000 for HRCS last year, and KSA hopes to reach $10,000 this year. All proceeds go to HRCS’s Youth Development Programs, which use sailing education to foster leadership and academic success in underserved New York City youth. KSA is a non-profit gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender sailing club in its twenty-first year with over 150 members from the tri-state area and is open to all, regardless of sexual orientation.

The race can be viewed via spectator boats and on Pier 66 adjacent to HRCS’s boathouse (West 26th Street inside Hudson River Park)
