TeacherQuest is a professional development program and learning community for teachers of all grades and subject areas. With an emphasis on game-like learning, the design process, and systems thinking, TeacherQuest will provide both new ways of thinking and practical tools to support teaching. This course is an introduction to designing non-digital game-like learning experiences for the classroom. Participants will: Explore and use game based learning strategies through collaborative design challenges Create, playtest, and rollout your very own learning game as part of an iterative design process. Use design thinking as a frame for developing classroom-ready materials. Gain valuable resources and best practices for bringing game-based learning into your classrooms. This program is a collaboration between Institute of Play and NYU. The registration fee is $525; however, teachers working in high-needs schools can apply for a full or partial scholarship.
