City and Country School (C&C), founded by pioneering educator Caroline Pratt, is celebrating its 100th Year with a day of workshops hosted by C&C teachers. Learn how to integrate C&C’s approach into your teaching methods.
C&C teachers will host 14 workshops, and participants will each select two. Workshops will include:
“Student Assessment: How It Can Inform and Ignite Your Teaching”
“Teaching Social Justice in a Social Studies Context”
“Block Building: Understand the Block Program From the Source (C&C Founder Caroline Pratt invented Unit Blocks)”
The workshops will focus on various components of the C&C program and how our unique practices promote creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration and confidence, along with self-regulation and self-direction.
Keynote speaker Ellen Galinsky will kick off the event by discussing her book, Mind in the Making: The Seven Essential Life Skills Every Child Needs. Galinsky’s presentation will provide a framework for the day, underscoring the power and relevancy of a City and Country education.
$100 per person includes the two workshops, along with light breakfast, lunch, and a copy for each participant of Galinsky’s Mind in the Making, and C&C founder Caroline Pratt’s newly republished I Learn From Children.
