Tennessee Commissioner of Economic and Community Development Randy Boyd will join state and local education, government and business leaders to engage students, parents and community members at an October public forum in Columbia related to student achievement. Titled “Unlocking the Keys to Student Success: Opening the Door to Opportunity,” the event will explore ways students can capitalize on the Tennessee Promise program and outline what community members can do to help students along the path to success, with emphasis on the tnAchieves program. Tennessee Promise and tnAchieves are initiatives designed to increase in-state community college enrollment and improve academic achievement. The forum is organized by the Maury County Chamber and Economic Alliance in coordination with Maury County Public Schools.

Join us for an evening of true stories from Memphis educators and students. Chalkbeat Tennessee is hosting a storytelling event under the theme "Natural Consequences" alongside Spillit.
We'll explore how natural and unnatural, just and unjust consequences to actions impact our lives and experiences. Storytellers will deliver personal stories, and many of them will touch on how, in diverse ways, school discipline has impacted their lives.
