Workshop for Social Studies Teachers: Say What? Immigration & the US Economy: Fact vs. Fiction
Lehman College and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta invite you to explore the effects of current U.S. immigration policy on the U.S. economy during this one-day workshop. Attendees will learn how to use Library of Congress Primary Source analysis techniques to explore and evaluate the 1965 amendment to the U.S. Immigration and Nationality ACT and the 1986 overhaul of immigration policy. Participants will also explore and evaluate the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ research which illustrates the impact of immigration on the U.S. economy. Free resources will be provided. Learn how to use Primary Source Analysis Techniques to explore and evaluate: how skilled and unskilled immigration affects the U.S. Economy; the current debate over U.S. immigration policy; and learn how to use data & graphing tools to evaluate U.S. immigration policy.
