Indianapolis Public Schools faces several critical votes Tuesday that will determine its leadership and its financial future.
On Election Day, voters are being asked to weigh in on two tax measures that could raise up to $272 million in additional funding to increase teacher salaries and improve school safety. They will also choose three out of the seven board members who oversee the district.
Read up on the issues and races, and track live election results here. Marion County did not have enough people to finish counting ballots Tuesday night, clerk spokesman Russell Hollis said. Votes from the remaining 60 precincts, in addition to about 50,000 absentee ballots, were expected to be counted starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The county finished tallying precincts around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and finished counting absentee ballots around 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
