NewsMatch campaign matches donations to Notebook up to 12 times

Campaign supports Notebook's daily education news

The Notebook is participating for a third year in the nationwide NewsMatch campaign, the largest grassroots fundraiser to support nonprofit news organizations. The campaign will match donations to 155 nonprofit newsrooms in nearly every state across the country through Dec. 31.

Notebook readers can make a one-time donation or start a new monthly gift online at http://weblink.donorperfect.com/Yearendcampaign. Monthly gifts will be matched 12 times, and one-time donations will be doubled (up to $1,000 each) by the NewsMatch campaign and Wyncote Foundation.

NewsMatch is designed to help fuel a surge in giving to local and investigative reporting and strengthen nonprofit newsrooms through training and shared resources. The Notebook will utilize the funding to support our daily news coverage of issues such as the effort to repair aging school buildings and the new locally controlled Board of Education. The campaign is the Notebook’s largest annual fundraiser and is crucial to our ability to continue our reporting through the spring.

NewsMatch is led by the Institute for Nonprofit News and the News Revenue Hub, two organizations helping build more sustainable models for journalism in America. It raised $4.8 million for nonprofit news organizations last year, including $75,000 for the Notebook.
