At Chalkbeat Chicago, the following question is in our DNA: How do we improve public education here? As we gear up to start publishing this summer, we pledge to keep asking this question—and report back what we hear. We recently teamed up with the neighborhood public schools advocacy Generation All to host a dinner for 45 parents, students, community members and educators at the Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts. The dinner was part of the Chicago Community Trust’s “On the Table 2018” series, a citywide event of discussions centered around some of Chicago’s most pressing issues. Here’s a video recap with some of the highlights of our conversation.
