Three members of Denver’s school board agreed yesterday that the board needs an independent financial analyst to help them understand the intricacies of the school district’s 2008 pension refinance. During an Audit and Finance Committee meeting, Jeanne Kaplan and Andrea Merida seemed pleasantly surprised that board treasurer Mary Seawell supported their plea for some outside help, and soon. But it was clear from the content and tone of the conversation that moving forward won’t be smooth or easy. “The devil is in the details,” Seawell said.
