Editor’s Note: A Plus Colorado has withdrawn the report on which this story was based due to flaws in the data. The report looked at which Colorado high schools send students to top-ranked colleges, and the results were disappointing. However, the Colorado Department of Higher Education accidentally excluded the University of Colorado Boulder and Colorado State University from the data it provided to A Plus Colorado. That’s significant enough that the premise of the report – and therefore the premise of this story – may not be correct. A Plus Colorado expects to reissue the report with more accurate information later in 2018. You can read more about this here.
