Candidates for IPS Board talk budget cuts, closing schools, and more

Eight people are vying for three seats on the Indianapolis Public Schools Board this year, including an open seat where the incumbent is not running.

The election is Tuesday, Nov. 6, and early voting has already begun. Below you can sort through each school board district race and see candidates’ answers to a survey Chalkbeat sent out last month. To find your district, check out the map from Indianapolis Public Schools.

To learn more about these candidates and meet them in person, be sure to attend our forum 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, at the Indianapolis Central Library.

Note: At-large school board candidate Mary Hampo-Stanley withdrew from the race.
