Two city students are regional finalists in science competition

Impreet Singh, a student at Francis Lewis High School in Queens, is a regional finalist in the Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology, a national science competition. Along with Stuyvesant High School’s Kelly Chen, Singh dated herbivore teeth from Grotte du Bison Cave and will go on to a regional competition in Pittsburgh next month.

Last spring, Faizullah Mashriqi, a senior at Francis Lewis, was the third place finisher at the 2013 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix. He helped develop an inexpensive solar panel through research at Queens College.
