New York City’s graduation rate continued its forward march in 2017, hitting a new high of 74.3 percent, officials announced Wednesday.
Mayor Bill de Blasio seized on the 1.2 percentage point increase — and a reduction in the dropout rate to 7.8 percent — as proof that his education agenda is paying off.
“We see constant progress across the board,” he said during a celebratory press conference.
